Another bit of news that has been part of Major Nelson’s announcement of the XBLA schedule for the next few weeks is, that Shinobi will be off 50%! 200 Microsoft points are a great price for the arcade classic! You can grab it for cheap from November 8th to November 14th! Certainly a good way to warm up for the new Nintendo 3DS game!

If you’ve got a Japanese PSN account, you’re now able to download the demo of the Puyo Puyo game that is being released on December 15th! As it seems, the game won’t make it over to the West, but that won’t stop Puyo Puyo enthusiasts!

Happy 25th Birthday, Alex Kidd!
Nov 1st
Alex Kidd, considered by many to be the first mascot of Sega, celebrates his 25th birthday today. His first game, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, came out on November 1st, 1986 in Japan for the Sega Master System. While he hasn’t had a new game since 1990, he has been included in recent games like Sega Superstars Tennis and Sonic and Sega All-Star racing. If you have missed out on his games so far, they are available on services like the Virtual Console and collections like the Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection.
We here at Sega-Addicts love Alex Kidd, which should be obvious, since our founder, Alex Riggen, has been, according to legend, named after the little hero! Happy Birthday, Alex Kidd!

Sonic Generations Avatar items coming on November 8th
Nov 1st
Major Nelson has given out the releases for the next two weeks on Xbox Live. Among the items, there is a listing for Sonic Generations Avatar items. I have no idea which items that could be and how much it will cost, but I’ll post more information as soon as they are available! This doesn’t surprise me at all though, since Sega has released Avatar Items for games like Rise of Nightmares and Guardian Heroes before.

Platinum Games recruitment comic features… BAYONETTA?
Nov 1st
This is the cover of the recruitment manga over at platinum games, which you can checked out on Platinum Games’ recruitment page (which is down at the moment). The manga is called “Blazing Intern: Gaimu Shirogane’s Challenge” and seems to be quite action packed, but the thing that gets me about this is that there’s a Bayonetta look-a-like on the cover.

Sonic Generations gets a launch trailer

This is basically a recut from all the other trailers together, but maybe you’ll spot something new? Anyway, November 4th can’t come soon enough!
Sega made money the past half year
Oct 31st
How much profit, I hear you ask? Well, between April 1st and September 30th they made USD 1,95 billion of profit! While that is almost 30% less than they made during the same period last year, keep in mind that Japanese sales haven’t been that strong due to the earthquake in March. Sega also says the Western markets are not buying enough games, while their pachinko business is doing rather well!
They also mention some sales figures for the game that came out during that period:
- Captain America: Super Soldier (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, NDS): 450.000 units
Regions: Europe, USA
- Rise of Nightmares (Xbox 360): 200.000 units
Regions: Europe, USA, Japan
- Sakatsuku 7 Euro Plus (PSP): 200.000 units
Region: Japan
