Someone sells a can of Seaman on eBay, the world snickers uncontrollably
May 5th
I suppose it only makes sense that one of the most disturbing games in history managed to yield the most freakishly upsetting promotional material I have ever seen. When Sega gave us the awesome nightmare fuel that is Seaman more than a decade ago, they apparently also saw fit to unleash a faux vacuum-packed can of humanoid fish-babies along with it. If that doesn’t sound like the setup for a Goosebumps book, I don’t know what does.
Late last month, one lucky eBayer managed to rid him or herself of this accursed foodstuff, auctioning it off for an impressive $99. While I have to admit that I’d be tempted by any materials Seaman-related (har har har, laugh it up), I can’t imagine seeing this demonic cannibal feast staring back at me from any display shelf. Hell, even if this thing is just relabeled tuna, that means someone is holding on to thirteen-year-old tuna fish. Truly chilling.
Would any of you guys pony up a crisp Benjamin to get your hands on Goosebumps #1999: Curse of the Seaman?

The Sega Addicts Kids Table: Episode 62 – Steak Sunday
Feb 10th
Warning: This episode of The Sega Addicts Kids Table may not be suitable for vegetarians. If you are too much of a wimp to eat meat like the manly Stevie, Josh, and (returning from making a gamejam game which you can find here) John, then you may want to eat some rice or something else instead. However if you are up for a rousing feast of Sega based conversation then tighten your belt as we have a lot on the plate this week!
In this beefy episode the gang discuss the new Sonic game rumours, Aliens: Colonial Marines‘ season pass and John’s new Sunday tradition. Oh and cannibalism! There’s a healthy dose of that in this MP3 too! So don’t fall down the food chain, listen to this podcast instead and join us at the top! It’s delicious up here!
Or go to our iTunes and subscribe! Leave us a review or else we won’t hesitate to go all Alferd Packer over you.
Oh and here’s Scotty’s bands video which we mention in the ep.
And finally you got one last chance to enter Newey Needs to Knowey (what you think!). Tweet your idea for an Anarchy Reigns character to @segaaddicts and your ideas will be read out on the show. The best entry gets a drawing of their character! So get cracking or there’ll be no Steak Sunday for you from now on!
The Sega Addicts Kids Table: Episode 53 – Baked Bean Blunders
Nov 22nd
While not about Thaksgiving specifically (whatever that is I unno, I’m British), this episode of The Sega Addicts Kids Table still celebrates the beloved American tradition because Stevie, Josh, and John talk about food for an extended amount of time! And is there really more to Thanksgiving than food? Didn’t think so!
But if the promise of baked bean troubles and ramen mayhem isn’t enough for you then you’ll be thrilled to find out that the gang also sit around the imaginary kids table this week to talk about the recent Project X Zone rumours and the Model2 Collection on XBLA. But it’s mostly about baked beans. What could be more delicious or entertaining?
Or go to our iTunes and subscribe! You can also review us as a holiday gift! That would make me thankful…
And don’t forget to answer next weeks Newey Needs to Knowey! Tweet your titles for a Sega themed Goosebumps book at the official Sega Addicts twitter! The best answer will win a cool monster drawing from Josh himself! Neat!
Yakuza themed menu added to Japanese pub chain
Nov 2nd
To promote Yakuza 5 Sega has teamed up with Japanese pub chain Izakaya Hanako to add Yakuza themed food onto the menu from October 30th through December 13th. The dishes were revealed at a press event where journalists could taste the items on the ‘Yakuza 5 Banquet Course’. At the event was Saki Suzuki who actually features in the game as a waitress. When asked about her appearance she replied “I wanted to give my friends a shock by appearing in the game, and I was amazed at how lifelike my CG model was.”
The producer of Yakuza 5 Masa Yokoyama was in attendance and even commented on the cross-promotion with Izakaya Hanako:
When looking for a way to accurately portray the local cultures of each of the 5 cities appearing in the game, I realized that ‘food culture’ was an important aspect of each region.
Izakaya Hanako gives you the chance to eat local specialities from each region all at one place, that’s why I like it. I hope to merge the realms of the game world and reality through our collaboration with Izakaya Hanako.
There was also a lot of other hijinks going on at the event including a t-shirt contest where mail magazine subscribers were given a chance to win a limited edition Yakuza 5 shirt. Overall sounds like a fun way to promote the game which is due for release in Japan on December 6th. Still no word on a Western release, however we will keep you updated and in the know.

Yakuza 5 to feature ramen in food based cross promotion
Sep 8th
To promote the upcoming Yakuza sequel, Sega has teamed up with 5 Japanese noodle stores to give the game some cross-promotion. In the game you will be able to visit these stores which actually exist in the real world. But the promotion doesn’t end at that because Yakuza is also getting it’s own brand of real world ramen which these stores will sell. How does Yakuza themed ramen taste? Well luckily the series creator had a taste of it over at 4Gamer. (Just a heads up, you might want to use google translate on that…)
Want to see how these ramen stores will look in the actual game though? Well all you have to do is hit the jump to find out!

Hot dogs in pizza. What more could you want from The Sega Addicts Kids Table? Hell what more could you want from any podcast?
That’s right as you can probably tell in this special episode, not only do Stevie, Josh, and (filling in for John this week) Michael Westgarth talk (and argue) about all the latest games and news, but they also discuss this amazing creation that’s hit the internet by storm. A hot dog pizza stuffed crust pizza. What more could you even need?
If this all sounds way too good to pass up then all you have to do is give it a listen! It’s an even longer show than usual this week which means more fun for you and me! So order up that pizza and..
