Buckle up, ladies and gents. Things are potentially about to get very interesting. Sonic Retro users Orengefox and Jen have acquired two discs containing early prototypes of the Japanese versions of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast.

The SA1 disc is a simple AutoDemo and the SA2 disc seems to be a Japanese press copy, and is standard fare aside from constant mentions of Shadow’s original name, Terios, in the file list.

While neither seems like much on the surface, both have enormous amounts of potential for looks into the development of both games. The SA1 disc has already provided unused textures and WIPs of various stage musics, as well as having a ton of differences from the final release, as it’s one of the very earliest demoed builds.

Neither game has aged very well, but they’re still landmark games for Sega, and any look into the development of these two is cause for being excited. Is anyone else as hyped as me for whatever else might come from this find? Tell us in the comments.

Nintendo will be starting off their Nintendo Unleashed Tour at the upcoming MCM London expo and will be showcasing playable demos of both Project X Zone and 3D Space Harrier. So far Sega’s entire range of “3D” Nintendo 3DS ports have been exclusive to the Japanese eShop.

So why show off 3D Space Harrier at MCM London? I don’t know, but I intend to find out.

That’s right, Sega Addicts’ Michael Westgarth will be heading over to the London ExCel exhibition centre this Friday to play Project X Zone, 3D Space Harrier and whatever else we can get our grubby little mitts on. There’s also going to be a retro gaming exhibition with playable Mega Drives. So if you a tried, sweaty British fella playing on a Mega drive, that’d be me. No wait, that’d be pretty much everyone. Hmm.

Expect reports on MCM London’s offerings on Sega Addicts sometime next week!

Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Solid spin-off Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be ported to PC platforms. The news comes straight from the lips of Metal Gear series producer Hideo Kojima who let the cat out oft he bag in a a recent Konami podcast. Platinum Games Creative Producer JP Kellams then confirmed the PC port in a recent Tweet.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was of course develops for and published by Konami, but anyone who had played it will see its ties to Anarchy Reigns, Bayonetta, Vanquish and more. Of interest to Sega fans is the fact this port may lead to the possibility of their Sega published games receiving similar PC ports.

Check out our review of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and let us know if you’d be interested in a PC port by leaving a comment below!

This week in Europe, the Nintendo 3DS eShop is getting a Project X Zone “Lethal Surprise Demo,” as announced by Nintendo of Europe yesterday morning. The demo will drop Thursday, May 23rd.

When asked about a North American demo by Siliconera, a Namco Bandai USA rep replied saying,

We will not be releasing the demo here this week. Once I have a solid date for the North American release, I’ll be happy to share that with you.

I already plan on picking up the game, but it’s always fun to get a taste for the official release. This demo is also a chance to show friends how awesome this game will be, because it’s still hard for me to explain this game to people sometimes. So, here’s hoping the North American demo hits soon. Project X Zone releases on June 25th in North America, and July 5th in Europe.

Late last month, Sumo Digital Executive Producer Steve Lycett tantalized us all with a Twitter conversation regarding the future of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. Now that Nintendo and Sega are all buddy-buddy, one of Lycett’s more interesting tweets has taken on a whole new level of intrigue.

@BlazeHedgehog I’m thinking we could finally settle some arguments, Who’d really win a kart race…

When @BlazeHedgehog asked about the potential for a Pac-Man crossover, Lycett went on to clarify that he was thinking of “bigger rivals.”

Of course most of us are going to leap to the conclusion that Lycett would like to see a crossover with Mario Kart. Considering that Nintendo’s long-running franchise has needed a shot in the arm for years now, and since the fantastic Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed didn’t sell anywhere near as well as it deserved to, combining both games’ audience makes a lot of sense. Besides, Sumo did a great job of referencing just about every major moment in Sega’s console legacy, so why not make a game based on one of the greatest rivalries in the history of the medium?

The Nintendo/Sega announcements just keep on coming, with the latest news revealing that last year’s Yakuza 1 & 2 HD is now coming to the Wii U in Japan. Of course, this means the addition of some new Wii U-exclusive features, including off-TV play.

This announcement comes as quite the shock, as Team Yakuza’s long-running crime saga has remained a Sony exclusive ever since its inception on the PS2. Could this mean we’ll be seeing a Wii U version of Yakuza 5 somewhere down the line? I friggin’ hope so.

Of course, there has been no word of any intention to bring Yakuza 1 & 2 HD to the US. Still, let’s hope that Sega’s new partnership with Nintendo will put some extra fire behind the push for localization.

Other than the previously outed Sonic Labyrinth, Nintendo’s handheld will also be getting Crystal Warriors, Columns, Sonic Blast, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Defenders of the Oasis, Tails Adventure, Shining Force II: Sword of Hayja, Sonic Drift 2, G-Loc Air Battle, and Vampire: Master of Darkness. That’s 13 titles in all. Hallelujah.

Even without any specific release info, this news is cause for celebration. Sega’s months-long silence led many of us to assume that the company had moved on from Game Gear rereleases, so the announcement of 13 games all at once is a pleasant surprise indeed. Just the prospect of playing Defenders of the Oasis and Sword of Hayja have me grinning like an idiot.

Looks like it’s time to remember another obscenely long title again!

That’s right revealed at last nights Nintendo Direct broadcast was another game in the Mario and Sonic sports series. This one being a sort of sequel to the 2009 Winter based mini-game collection that we saw on the Wii. This game though is set to take place in Sochi, Russia and will contain a host of new games such as snowboarding, skiing, and even pairs figure skating (catch the dream!).

It’ll also use the features that the Wii U has to offer like the gamepad which is shown off in the above video. And although we haven’t got a release date just yet we can expect to see this game closer to the events when they hit next year.
