The Nintendo/Sega announcements just keep on coming, with the latest news revealing that last year’s Yakuza 1 & 2 HD is now coming to the Wii U in Japan. Of course, this means the addition of some new Wii U-exclusive features, including off-TV play. This announcement comes as quite the shock, as Team Yakuza’s long-running crime saga has…

The reveal of Sonic: Lost World may be the hottest story coming out of Sega’s recently announced collaboration with Nintendo, but in the meantime another promise is finally being fulfilled: more Game Gear games on the 3DS. Other than the previously outed Sonic Labyrinth, Nintendo’s handheld will also be getting Crystal Warriors, Columns, Sonic Blast, Sonic the Hedgehog,…

That’s right, I said “Sonic 1 version 2.0″. No, I don’t mean that Sonic 2 is coming to iOS and Android, so stop asking. No! Sonic 3 & Knuckles isn’t coming either! Security! Get these Sonic fans out of my office! It seems not even Sega were happy with their rubbish attempt to port the original…

It’s a new year, and with it comes a new Sonic game right? I’m honestly still riding the coattails of Sonic & Danica Patrick go to the beach Transformed, so these announcements can take their time in my opinion. Anyway, Sega filed a trademark in Europe for something called “Sonic Lost World.” Shall we let…

Sonic Dash recently received a huge patch for iOS which added a whole load of new content, including new power-ups and missions. What it didn’t openly mention is that it also added Shadow’s textures and model to the game. That mess of colours above? Yep, that’s a crop of a texture map for Shadow. Discovered by Woun…

Canadian John Fraser has created a fake title screen for a reimagining of 2011′s Drive for the Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive. Fraser shared his method for making the intro on his Youtube account: 9-bit colour, divvied up into 4 palettes of 15+alpha colours each, just like momma used to make. built in slices in photoshop,…

I honestly cannot understand why anyone would be disappointed that this isn’t a fighter after watching this trailer. The concept of bringing so many characters from three huge companies together for one epic story is so damn attractive to me.
That being said, I am preemptively depressed at the inevitable announcement that this will not be coming stateside.

The battle system does look really good and I can just imagine how good the 2D sprites look with the 3D effect turned on. So far with the 3DS the only games I enjoy with 3D on are 2D sprite-based games as it just seems to work better with well-defined layers.
As for this overall game the only thing that would prevent me from buying it (if it came to the West) is if the entire game is just battle after battle. I like RPG’s but I usually enjoy the story and exploring more than the combat.
Still this game looks great and I think it’s going to be exactly what a lot of fans want.
