Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition confirmed for Japan with new trailer
…And so my epic trilogy of posts regarding the potential HD rerelease of Yakuza 1 and 2. We laughed, we cried, and we learned things.
Ok, well we learned that Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition, as it has been officially titled, is coming to Japan. We also learned that the game will allow for data install, which will improve load times–frankly, not what I thought Famitsu meant. We also kinda learned that Sega’s not as good at hiding reveals as they seem to think they are.
What do you guys think? I’m a bit mixed on the look of the trailer, as the cut-scenes just don’t look as pretty as I’d expect from an HD upres (where’s the anti-aliasing?).
Whatever the case, I still very much want this in the US.

Hope it comes here, I’ve got the two on PS2, but it’s so impractical and cumbersome to bust them out these days. Looks like this will be a great port, hopefully we get it. SOA hasn’t denied us an HD Yakuza yet, so there is hope.
