Sega has released the first TV commercial for Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed and I feel like a 90′s kid all over again. It’s a combination of the excited announcer with the live-action costumed Sonic and Aiai that makes me feel like I fell into a beautiful time-warp. Plus, the tagline of “The Video Game” helps. To be honest, I kind of like this commercial but I wonder if it will appeal to the audience Sega’s looking for. If it’s aimed at gamers my age then it definitely does the trick but I don’t know if the younger generations will find it as endearing.
