Renegade Ops is a ‘Deal of the Week’ on XBLA
Oct 12th
If you somehow managed to miss the fantastic Renegade Ops when it was released last year then it’s finally time to fix that heinous crime because it’s made the latest Deal of the Week promotion on XBLA! For one week only gold members can enjoy Avalanche Studios ridiculously over the top action game for 600 Microsoft points. That’s half off the normal price!
Remember this deal is for one week only so if you haven’t got it yet, now is your chance. However Renegade Ops isn’t the only game listed in this week’s deal as you can check out the full sale here (although it is the best game on that list too). So what are you waiting for? Play this game and put some hair on that chest, boy!

Renegade Ops devs speak out against DRM
Sep 2nd
Avalanche Studios, the developers of the upcoming Sega title Renegade Ops has spoken out against the ever controversial topic of DRM. In an interview with Edge, Christofer Sundberg (founder of the studio) said that ”As a developer you will never win over any fans if you constantly let everyone know how much it costs to develop a game and how much money you lose.”
He continued to say “I don’t like always-on DRM solutions at all, since they offer nothing to the consumer. If you continuously give something extra for registering and being online, and award them for actually paying for and playing your game, it’d be different, but always-on DRM only says: ‘Thank you for buying our game, we trust you as far as we can throw you.”
As Sega fans, we fortunately haven’t really dealt with DRM in the past. But as it becomes a bigger issue I’m sure we can expect to hear more about it soon. So what do you think? Are the Renegade Ops developers right, or are they not seeing the bigger picture? Let me know in the comments!

First look at Renegade Ops
May 4th
Renegade Ops is a downloadable top down shooter being developed by Avalanche Studios, the guys behind Just Cause 2. Sega has just started to roll out some information on what the game is all about. The game will feature massive explosions, online and local multiplayer, online leaderboards and some impressive physics.
They are claiming it to be a mix of the A-Team, G.I. Joe, and Micro Machines. I don’t know about you, but that sounds awesome. The trailer is short but very impressive, displaying the massive explosions and the chaos quite well.
The game is set to release digitally this summer on Xbox Live, PSN, and PC.
