Sega Addicts Podcast: Episode 77 – The Games of 2012
Jan 15th
This episode we look to the future and discuss the games announced for 2012. With games like Binary Domain, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Phantasy Star Online 2, and many more this has potential to be a great year for Sega games. In addition to announced games we also speculate on what franchises may have unannounced games in the works.
Binary Domain’s Achievements revealed
Jan 14th
Nothing gets me intrigued about a game’s lesser hyped aspects like its list of Trophies/Achievements. Binary Domain’s is no different, with exciting hints at scarcely discussed gameplay modes like the Invasion Mode (which I assume is Binary Domain’s Horde Mode) and awesome-sounding in-game prospects like nanomachines. That’s right. NANOFREAKINMACHINES.
I am surprised by an underwhelming list of multiplayer Achievements, though. That’s kind of odd for a genre that’s usually so dead-set on online combat. Whatever the case, hit the jump to see the list of what’s been revealed so far. There are a few minor spoilers in there, but nothing too severe.

The Binary Domain Mr. Assault videos are weird but fun
Jan 13th
Sega has released two videos in Japan for the promotion of Binary Domain, focusing on Mr. Assault. He’s a robot that gets inserted into various real-life scenarios, with an added humorous touch of course. They are fun to watch, even if you don’t know any Japanese. Hit the jump for a second video!

Not another one: Binary Domain delayed to Feb 28th
Jan 11th
Fresh off the heels of Anarchy Reigns and Crush3D getting their own delays, Team Yakuza’s upcoming shooter and Sega’s biggest release of the winter has been pushed off by two weeks, from Valentine’s Day to February 28th.
I will grant you that’s not too sizable a difference, but I am a petulant little whiner with the patience of a four-year-old. GIMMEGIMMEGIMME!!!

Binary Domain is ‘Bigger than you think’ according to this new trailer
Jan 11th
The marketing machine of Sega has finally started pushing more ads for Binary Domain and this trailer does a great job of selling me to this game. Nice music, good choice of cutscenes and gameplay. Looks pretty great, right?
This 12 minute long promotion video of Binary Domain tries to hype you up
Jan 11th
Let’s be frank here: The announcement trailer of Binary Domain in December 2010 didn’t do a great job to make you excied for the game. It was pretty bland and couldn’t quite catch your interest. This 12 minute long promotional video that was done for Famitsu on the other hand managed to get me excited! Since it shows a lot of ingame cutscenes, there are many spoilers in there. Around the 6 minutes mark, the video gets really insane and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Check it out after the jump!

Binary Domain gets two boxarts
Jan 5th
Binary Domain’s release isn’t too far off anymore, so it’s no surprise that we finally get a look at the boxart. I prefer the Japanese boxart, since the U.S. one is kind of bland, but I guess that depends on personal preference. Check out the U.S. one right after the jump!

Watch a porn star play Binary Domain
Dec 23rd
You may recognize Rio as one of the hostesses in Yakuza 4. She recently made her successfull porn debut, and thankfully that doesn’t keep Sega from including her in the promotion of the next game by the Yakuza studio, Binary Domain. This video is great since it gives you almost ten minutes of gameplay. With comments by a porn actress.
Not something you see everyday…

Binary Domain Pre-Order bonus announced
Dec 15th
Sega announced a few pre-order bonuses for reserving Binary Domain at GameStop. The first of which is a map pack including two maps: Outside High-rise, and Upper City. The second set includes the “Ninja” class for multiplayer, and I’ll admit I got a bit distracted by the Official Ninja Webpage that Sega linked on their site. The third set is a pair of nice weapons for multiplayer: the “Hoga Type 69″ Sniper Rifle, and the “Yamato-0″ Handgun. So, if you have not yet reserved Binary Domain and want to have a leg up on the competition, then GameStop may be the place to go.
