May 3rd

The Nintendo 3DS port of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will be published in Europe this autumn thanks to NIS America. The American arm of Nippon Ichi Software, NIS America have previously worked on titles such as Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 and the first Hyperdimension Neptunia.

The 3DS port of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers gets a sweet new trailer
Mar 25th
With the release less than a month away, a new trailer has popped up for the 3DS port of Atlus’ Sega Saturn RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. So far it looks like the developer is doing very little to alter the vintage turn-based feel, with all the list-heavy battles, laborious item maintenance, and lovely anime artwork remaining intact. It should be interesting to see how an RPG with stationary image battles can hold up in today’s climate of sprawling spectacle and scope.
As someone who is still feeling his way through the Saturn library I have not yet gotten to try this one out. Are any of my fellow Sega Addicts revved to revisit another one of Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei classics when it gets released in the US on April 16th?

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers gets a 3DS remake
Apr 26th
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, which is part of the long running JRPG-series “Shin Megami Tensei”, is getting a remake for the Nintendo 3DS. The PlayStation One and Sega Saturn classic will receive a new opening animation from Satelite, a new voice cast, improved animations and shorter load times. The game is partially known for having been the first Shin Megami Tensei title to be considered for a Western release. Unfortunately, Sony of America refused it. The title will be released in Japan on August 30th, it is unknown whether or not it will have a Western release. However, considering that all the PSP remakes and DS games made it to the West, chances are good.
