This is what the Dreamcast 2 could look like
Feb 5th
French Industry designer Elie Ahovie has done several compelling concept designs and this one is really impressive: He made a concept design for a Dreamcast successor he calls “Dreamcast Delta”. He derives all of the design from the original console and looks at how the other consoles have evolved in design and came up with this! Check out his homepage for more details on the process. Definitely worth reading!

All I want for Christmas is the Dreamcast 2: Part 1
Dec 24th
As Sega fans, we have all wanted it or still do. Some of us believe that it is inevitable for a predecessor to top the best console launch in the history of Sega consoles. I have come to accept that Sega may never return to the first party market, but that does not mean that I cannot imagine what the launch line-up of the Dreamcast 2 would include. Follow me into the year 2005, when a typical system’s life would end and another would begin. Sega is still a first party company, and the system war has become heated with four strong opponents. I submit to you my dream list of ten Dreamcast 2 launch titles. More >

Patent for a Sega controller is found
Jul 12th
A US patent for a controller made by Sega was recently uncovered. It was filed on July 23rd, 2009 and was publicly published last month. The concept art shown for the device all looks a lot like the Wii. The game shown as well resembles Prope’s Let’s Tap. One can assume that this was possibly a failed controller for the game, but the patent was filed months after its release.
A game device capable of controlling a game without a special game operation is provided.A controller 7 which is means for inputting game operation to a game device 3 comprises an acceleration sensor 73 detecting vibration applied to the input means. Control means for controlling the game in the game device 3 comprises means for determining an intensity level of a vibration value of vibration generated by a tap motion of a player when the controller 7 transmits a measured value of the vibration, and means for determining whether or not an array pattern of the determined intensity levels in time series order matches a previously-set command. The control means comprises means for, if it matches the previously-set command, executing special game control set corresponding to the matched command.
We probably will never know what this was going to be, but it’s fun to speculate. Hit the jump to see the concept art and don’t forget to tell me what you think it is in the comments.

Well, of course he doesn’t! As some of you might know, during last years E3 he annoyed the heck out of people in order to find the Dreamcast 2. This time, he mainly annoys the people at the SEGA booth at E3.
I’ve always liked the stuff Keith Apicary does, and this time it’s no different. SPIN DASH!
