Valkyria Chronicles 3 fan translation makes progress
Nov 9th
A group of fans sick of not being able to experience last years Japan only Valkyria Chronicles sequel have teamed up to patch the game with an English translation. As you can see from the video above a lot of progress has already been made, with lots of the main text already translated.
This patch will be downloadable via custom firmware on your PSP but non-hackers might want to hold off until the softmod becomes available. When ready this softmod will allow you to keep your PSP as it was, making the patch accessible with a custom firmware equipped memory card instead. The project itself seems to be running at a fast pace with only a few character limit problems in the way.
It’s great to know that whilst Sega may keep a bunch of their titles exclusive to Japan, the fans can still help each other out with projects like this. Good show, Valkyria Chronicles fans!

This Alex Kidd musical medley is inspired
Nov 30th
Don’t you just love fans sometimes? While we seem to always get remixes and ‘with lyrics’ videos, youtube user ‘lara6683‘ has taken things a tad classier. As you can see in the above video she’s taken the score from Alex Kidd in Miracle World and turned it into a classic styled medley. She’s done some other medleys as well including a very awesome Sonic video which you should also watch.
There’s nothing else to say except that you should check her stuff out. It’s awesome to see this kind of stuff on a site usually dedicated to funny cat videos either way.

Zonic to be at London Gaming Con
Nov 29th
For those of you not familiar with ‘Zonic’, she basically takes Sonic songs and remixes them with lyrics. They’re quite fun and she’s obviously quite talented, as you can see in the above video. Well in another recent video she revealed that she will have some gigs at the London Gaming Con. How exciting!
She will be there on this Saturday and Sunday with some new Sonic themed songs as well. Seems to be a pretty awesome event at the moment. So if you’re in town, pop over to the Rocket Complex on Holloway Road and be sure to catch her gigs. Also watch out for me as I’ll be covering the event for this site. Now that’s something you don’t want to miss out on!
Sonic modded into Super Street Fighter 4
Nov 10th
Even though Sonic looks a bit creepy, it is nice seeing random characters pop up in fan mods. Good work ‘mugen1love’!

Sonic fan film has a teaser trailer
Jun 24th
Did you ever hear about the Megaman movie? It was OK I guess. Either way, the team is now making a Sonic movie with the original voice of Sonic himself: Jaleel White!
As you can see from the trailer above, it looks like it will mix CG animation with live action? Yeah I don’t know either. I guess I’ll have to wait and see with this one. What about you? Are you excited for this fan movie, or could you just not care? Let me know in the comments!

Watch these awesome Sonic flipbook animations
May 25th
Woah did you see that?
So yeah, youtube user ‘BloodyRenegadeX’ has recently come into the spotlight after making some seriously awesome flipbooks. Man this guy must have immense patience. He’s also done a couple more of them which are seriously impressive. I still can’t get over it. He must be a robot. That’s the only way it can make any sense.

OC Remix releases Sonic 1 arranged album
Apr 13th
For those of you who don’t know what OC Remix is, shame on you. For those of you who do, you’d be happy to hear that they have completed their work on their newest release, and album based off the tunes from the very first Sonic the Hedgehog game! The album itself features 13 tracks from the original game, remixed and arranged in various new styles for you to enjoy. The album is also free and you can get it here.
In the past the OC Remix crew have also made albums based off Sonic 2 and the Sonic 3 saga, so if you haven’t listened to those I highly recommend you do. So now all of you guys who never heard of them before, you have no excuse. Go give them a listen.

Summer of Sonic 2011 venue announced
Apr 8th
I hate Camden. It’s a foul speck on this planet Earth populated by terrible people. But it seems that might not be for long, since Camden is where the next Summer of Sonic convention is set to take place! Well, Camden Centre to be precise. The venue is just across from Kings Cross Station (my personal train station of choice) and will hold 900 people plus huge restrooms, it seems.
Personally this is great news for me, as it seems I won’t have to go far from where I usually get off from. But apart from me, it’s also less complicated for anyone new to the country, or visitors from far off. But yeah, I’m getting quite excited now. So should you. Come meet me and we can celebrate Sonic’s 20th Birthday in style! Or surrounded by another bunch of sweaty nerds like me. Whatever you want to call it.
