Rumor: GameStop to stock Aliens: Colonial Marines action figures
Jan 10th
Sega Addicts has learned via an anonymous tip that GameStop stores may be stocking action figures based on Sega’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game. As shown in the photograph of the ‘Toys’ release list above, the action figures will retail at $19.99 each with a release date of May 1st this year, about two and a half months after the release of the game.
These lists are never definitive proof of any future event, but can often act as hints, such as Anarchy Reigns‘s reduced price point. If this is list is anything to go by, the three figures of Hicks, Hudson and an Alien Warrior are part of a first series of toys, suggesting more toys to be released in the future.
I still have some of my old Aliens toys around here somewhere, they’re pretty cool and I’d love to get my hands on some more. Reckon you’ll get some Colonial Marines toys? Let us know in the comments section below. Hit the jump to see the photograph in full.
Get a free “Danicar” at GameStop because we need more Danica in our lives
Dec 11th
Starting on December 9th, GameStop has been giving out a free “Danicar” to anyone who purchases Sonic And Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed. The car is modeled after Danica Patrick’s vehicle from Transformed, but in a Hot Wheels toy form. Ironically, some fans are upset that they did not get this car on their day one purchase even though it represents a character no one wanted in the game to being with. I understand their complaints to an extent, but with a massive game like Transformed, I think paying only $40 for that game initially is a reward in itself. So if you really want this car you could be a super fan and buy the game again. Anyone who has not bought the game yet now has even more incentive to do so. So what are you waiting for? I need more people to destroy online!

Anarchy Reigns pre-order DLC is exclusive to GameStop
Nov 20th
I wish I was talking about some new, previously unreported pre-order DLC, but I’m not. The Anarchy Reigns Day One Edition, which includes DLC for two new multiplayer modes named ‘Mad Survival’ and Dogfight’, as well as our all-time favourite witch, Bayonetta, as a playable character will be available in the US, but only via pre-order from GameStop.
Whether or not this affects the European countries in which GameStop operates is unknown, but considering the ease of inter-EU country importing, it’s unlikely.
I suppose Anarchy Reign‘s reduced retail price wasn’t enough for Sega. I find it a pity that they feel it necessary to whore out what is potentially the best IP they’ve come into contact with for a long, long time. But that’s just my opinion. What’s yours? Check out the full press release after then jump, then let me know in the comments section below.

Breaking News: GameStop reveals Anarchy Reigns release date
Oct 15th
News just in from our under cover Sega Addicts agent Scott Morrison: According to official GameStop documentation, Anarchy Reigns will be available for pre-order with a release date of April 3rd 2013, as shown in the professionally taken image above.
The international version of the brawler by Platinum Games was originally set for release in Western territories this year, later being pushed back to ‘Q1 2013? by Sega themselves.
Where have GameStop gotten this information? We don’t know. Is the release date set in stone? Probably not. Anarchy Reign for only $30?! I know rite!
We’ll keep you updated with any further information as we get it. Be sure to hit the jump for a sexy high resolution image of the bit of GameStop paper. Cheers to Mr. Morrison for the intel.
GameStop taking pre-orders on “Sega Saturn” games
Jun 7th
You read correctly! With giant emphasis on those quotes! Recently, GameStop announced that they are already taking pre-orders on Wii U games. The most hilarious part about this is that the SKU numbers for each game are under GameStop’s old SKU listing for Sega Saturn games. So, if you want to be a real smarty pants, go to your local GameStop and tell them you want to a reserve a Sega Saturn game. I know I would. If you prefer a giant computer-sized screenshot to verify this fact, check out the Kotaku source link. Crazy stuff!

Get Sonic 4 Episode 1 Free with Sonic Generations at GameStop
Jan 13th
This is a pretty nice incentive for those who have not yet played Sonic Generations. Those who buy Sonic Generations on Xbox 360 or PS3, either in a GameStop store or on their website, will receive a download code for Sonic 4 Episode 1. GameStop is basically handing you $10 in Sonic money… so 10 Mobians? (Yes I went there) Anyway, this is a pretty nice bonus, and an excellent way to get people excited for Sonic 4 Episode 2. Anyone picking this up? Maybe even picking it up again to share some Sonic love with a friend? Man that sounds gross. I need to just post the “source” and stop typing.

Binary Domain Pre-Order bonus announced
Dec 15th
Sega announced a few pre-order bonuses for reserving Binary Domain at GameStop. The first of which is a map pack including two maps: Outside High-rise, and Upper City. The second set includes the “Ninja” class for multiplayer, and I’ll admit I got a bit distracted by the Official Ninja Webpage that Sega linked on their site. The third set is a pair of nice weapons for multiplayer: the “Hoga Type 69″ Sniper Rifle, and the “Yamato-0″ Handgun. So, if you have not yet reserved Binary Domain and want to have a leg up on the competition, then GameStop may be the place to go.

Want the Sonic CD re-release now? Buy a tablet from GameStop!
Nov 5th
Sega recently confirmed that people who buy certain tablets from gaming mega store GameStop will receive the re-release of Sonic CD, slated for a December release, pre-installed and ready to play. This is pretty cool news to those Sega fans who have been in the market for a new tablet. It’s strange to see this game as the bonus considering it’s not supposed to come out for some time now, but why bite the hand that feeds?
Right now, gamers who purchase a tablet, including the Samsung Galaxy, Acer 100 and ASUS Transformer, being sold at 200 GameStop locations and online at www.gamestop.com, will receive a copy of Sonic CD, pre-installed and ready to play today- far ahead of its official launch in December. This exhilarating Sonic game is compatible with the proprietary Bluetooth gaming controller being offered with the tablets.
First Tails is playable and now this? Busy week for fans of Sonic’s Sega CD outing.

Pre-order bonus for Captain America revealed
May 31st
Word is that this might actually be a good game. We did recently avoid the end of the world, but maybe a good movie tie in game marks the true end of times? Who knows. What I do know is that Game Stop just recently released what they would be offering as a bonus to those who pre-ordered the game.
- Ultimates 1942 Captain America costume
- The “Ballroom Blitz” Challenge Mode Map
- Early in-game access to Cap’s “Weaponize” ability
Hit the jump to see some screens of the DLC!

GameStop lists Sonic Generations for 3DS
May 8th
You may remember a while ago that I told you about a rumoured Sonic anniversary game that could make it to the latest Nintendo hand-held console. Well since we now know about Sonic Generations, it was only going to be a short while until a 3DS version found itself to be rumoured. And that’s just what has happened over at the Sonic Stadium forums, as forum member ‘Hero of legend’ has found a listing for a 3DS port of the highly anticipated Sonic Generations game in his local GameStop.
This all seems very likely as we have been expecting a 3DS Sonic game since last years E3, and this all seems to add up. All we need now is an official word or release date from Sega and we’ll be all set for celebrating Sonic’s anniversary in three whole dimensions, later this year.
