PEGI rate Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and more for XBLA

By now we’re all fully aware of the fantastic Wonder Boy Vintage Collection for XBLA coming our way as well as the news of another more mish-mash collection featuring Alex Kidd in Miracle World. but now the European game rating system PEGI has rated several more Sega classics for XBLA, suggesting that more retro-bundles are in the works.
The newly rated games include beat-em-up classics Golden Axe, Golden Axe 3, Streets of Rage, and Streets of Rage 3. PEGI have also the aforementioned Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Monster World IV as well as Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Super Hang-On and The Revenge of Shinobi; the latter three comprising the Alex Kidd & Co. collection. Well, it certainly looks like some retro-tastic, and bank balance reducing, times are ahead. However, one could say that are Sega shamelessly ‘whoring out’ their classic titles onto yet another gaming platform. And what do you, the Sega fans, think? Let us know in the comments below!

Golden Axe 3 and Streets of Rage 3 are now on iTunes

Ever wanted to play the third instalments of your favourite Sega beat em ups on your iPhone but haven’t been able to? Well now the time has come when you can finally do that, you mad bastard! The games are about $3 each and are the exact same games, with some touch controls made specifically for iPods.
You can get Streets of Rage 3 here and Golden Axe 3 here. So how about that? Good news for all you beat em up fans (as long as you like touch controls, which can get irritating at times granted).
