The Sega Addicts Top 10 Games with Winter Levels or Themes

Developers have been using the season of Winter for inspiration in their game and level design for decades. With the hundreds of snow and ice levels that have shown up in games to sections and entire releases based around Christmas and the Holidays, it’s apparent that Winter has played a major part in shaping the design of many of our favorite gaming moments.
With that in mind we have created a list of 10 of our favorite Winter inspired moments in gaming. So, sit back, grab a warm cup of hot chocolate and click the jump to read on.
Renegade Ops and Shogun 2 offer up some holiday cheer

YOUR REIGN OF TERROR ENDS HERE!
Every once in a while you meet one of those guys who really, really loves the holiday season. These are the folks who wear the same tacky reindeer sweater from the first of December all the way through the end of the year.
To be honest, I kind of get that vibe from Sega. First, there was the seasonal Christmas NiGHTS game. Then, we got that ever-so appropriate Christmas Toy Commander demo from the Official Dreamcast Magazine. Now, both Renegade Ops and Shogun 2 are offering their own (surprisingly violent) brand of holiday cheer with some exclusive new content.
If you already have the new DLC for Renegade Ops (PC version only, grumble grumble), then you should now be able to track down that menace Santa Claus and blast him from the sky. If you succeed in ending the bearded fiend’s reign of terror, you will be rewarded with a special gift. Shogun 2 is also getting a free holiday makeover, complete with a new Christmas-themed HUD, a new Christmas front-end scene, and a brand new holiday map called “Operation Santa”.
Happy Holidays from Sega. Now take off that sweater. You look like an idiot.

Sega Addicts join in prayer for Francis P. Tassium

In the spirit of the holiday season, all Sega Addicts have been joining together in prayer in support of their favorite wayward banana pal, Francis P. Tassium. As you know, Francis was lost in the Andes mountains when his plane went down last November, claiming the lives of all human passengers onboard. Francis was never found.
Call it a hunch, intuition or Spider Sense, but loyal Sega Addicts believe that Francis is still alive. We know he’s out there, and we know he’ll return to us someday.
In the spirit of capitalism, “Believe” buttons are now available on CafePress, to show your support for our beloved fruity friend.
The time has come to go bananas.
Sega having a big holiday digital content sale
