Dreamcast Month: Japanese games on your Dreamcast
Sep 3rd
Two years ago I ran into a problem. I had finally gotten a copy of Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves for my beloved ‘Cast. I popped it in and hooked up a Saturn model 2 controller (the only way to play fighters on the Dreamcast, in this nerd’s opinion). I powered up and began to play. Immediately I knew something was wrong and it was more than Terry Bogard wearing his girlfriend’s clothes for some reason.
I would throw a punch and the sound would lag. The GD drive would click and load for a second, and then I would hear the sound I was supposed to. It did this for every incidental sound, in every fight, for the entire game. The Googles confirmed my worst fear: This was a coding issue. Playing this game meant grinding my Dreamcast down. There was only one solution: I would need a copy of the Japanese version of the game.
The Sega Addicts Kids Table: Episode 43 – A Million Mispronunciations
Jun 21st
If there’s anything that proves that the cast of The Sega Addicts Kids Table can’t say words then this episode is definitely it. That’s right for some reason in this episode it seems that Stevie, Josh and John aren’t able to say things without their tongues getting in the way. But never fear because we do talk about some other stuff semi-competently!
These things that we talk about include the Monster World creators plans for another game, and yet another conversation about Kickstarter (we promise this is the last time). We also discuss Project X Zone‘s incredible amount of voices and if we will ever get to play it in the West. Sound good to you? Well how about hearing me struggle to say ‘Super Mario Sunshine‘? If that doesn’t tickle your fancy then I don’t know what will.
Download it here!
Or go to our iTunes and subscribe! If you review us we will all take elocution lessons by next week! (We won’t. I’ll probably just get some hookers instead.)
