Pre-register for Kingdom Conquest II and get yourself some free cards
Jan 11th
Sega’s newest addition in their successful free-to-play, iOS card battling series, Kingdom Conquest II, will come with two super rare cards to those who pre-register before its release, which is ‘soon’. The first card, a yet unknown ‘Super Limited SR Monster Card’ is for use with Kingdom Conquest II, while the second card named, ‘High Orb’, will be added to the original Kingdom Conquest‘s collection.
I haven’t played the original game myself, but I can see how an iOS/ Android based card game with real-time CGI battles could work, especially if it utilises a well implemented free-to-lay business model. If Kingdom Conquest II does half as well as its predecessor then it’ll be a real boost to Sega’s financials.
Gonna check out Kingdom Conquest II? Did you play the last one? Let us know in the comments section below!

Get ready for more conquesting in Kingdom Conquest 2
Dec 12th
Sega has released a new trailer for Kingdom Conquest 2, which is already out in Japan and will be coming to Western iOS and Android devices this Winter. The trailer doesn’t really show a thing about the game as it’s just a bunch of CGI battle scenes but from some hard research I’ve been doing it mainly appears that the sequel will include more of what Kingdom Conquest brought with better graphics.
I played some Kingdom Conquest when it originally released on iOS a couple years ago. I can say it kept me pretty engaged for about a month until I got to the point where there was more micromanaging and longer turns than I could devote time to. Still, it was a very deep and strategic game and has a pretty devote fanbase now. Hopefully, the sequel can keep the current fans happy while bringing more people to the Kingdom Conquest universe.
Business restructuring is working, Sega profits up for the quarter
Jul 31st
After months of hyperbolic news stories and scary rumors, things are finally starting to look up for Sega. The new focus on digital downloads is already working, as the company has reported that the first quarter of this fiscal year has yielded a profit increase of 7.1 percent. A lot of this turnaround has been credited to efforts in mobile gaming, with games like Kingdom Conquest getting downloaded over three million times, and other popular Sega revenue streams like Pachinko machines and collectible cards seeing increased business in Japan.
The sad news in all of this is that Sega is still recording some losses in their consumer division, which houses their videogame sales. Still, as mobile hits like the aforementioned Kingdom Conquest and other downloadables like Miku Flick and Samurai and Dragons have managed to reduce that loss, it seems Sega may very well be on a solid road to regain some stability.
As much as it depresses me to see Sega really leaning into this whole digital thing, they definitely seem to be doing things right. As long as we keep getting new games like The Cave and Hell Yeah, things should turn out alright. I hope.

Kingdom Conquest passes 1 million downloads
May 20th
Sega’s free to play iOS MMORPG Kingdom Conquest has recently gone platinum. According to a Sega press release the game has been downloaded over 1 million times on the app store world wide.
Not only did the game reach this milestone, but it also won an Innovation Award last month at the Global Mobile Game Awards during the Global Mobile Internet Conference.
This game is pretty enjoyable. If you have an i device and haven’t tried it yet you should give it a shot.

Kingdom Conquest is now available on the App Store!
Nov 16th
A few months ago SEGA gave away some details on upcoming iPhone games that they’d be releasing by the end of the year. Three of those games (Chu Chu Rocket, Gunstar Heroes, and Altered Beast) should sound familiar to any SEGA fan but there was one title, Kingdom Conquest, that was a brand new IP for SEGA. I was very interested but it was extremely hard to find any details on the game besides a couple screenshots and a basic description of the game. Imagine my surprise when I searched the App Store this morning for the game and it was available to download. And it’s FREE!
Well, I guess it’s kind of free. It’s one of those games that survives on micro-transactions rather than people purchasing the game. That basically means you could end up getting obsessed with the game and spending way more than you should or you could play it cool, like me, and try your best not to spend anything.
Anyway, I’m excited to actually try this game. It sounds like an interesting mix of Phantasy Star Online and Civilization and I’m hoping that’s as awesome as it sounds. I recommend anyone out there with an iDevice give it a try as the price of entry is absolutely nothing.
