Insert Coin has new Sega based clothing in the works
Apr 21st
Not to sound like an ad here but insert coin is a pretty great videogame clothes store. The designs they have are subtle and never too in your face or pointlessly meme filled, which makes their new team-up with Sega pants jizzingly amazing.
They have had previous Sega inspired shirts on their site before but this upcoming range will introduce new awesome items such as several Sonic shirts and hoodies, a Space Channel 5 vest, and some bizarre Sonic leggings (viewable above). You can view the rest of the designs on their recent blog post here. Pretty awesome stuff per usual and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what this range looks like in cloth when they release these new designs later this year.

Ebten honors Japan’s bravest warrior with new merchandise
Apr 20th
Remember Segata Sanshiro? He was the way badass and tough mascot that the Sega Saturn had in Japan. He’d yell at children for not playing Sega games. He was a hero. In any case Japanese site/store ebten has now put up some Sanshiro themed merch including mugs, shirts, and more.
Unfortunately this is Japan-only stuff, so you should stop before you throw money at the screen just yet. Still there’s always eBay in the future if some lucky Japanese fellow is willing to offer up any of this sweet merchandise. In the meantime let’s keep pining for it!

Jazwares adds new merch to Sonic toy line
Apr 8th
Toy company Jazwares has been producing a wide selection of Sonic merchandise for a while now and following on from their New York Toy Fair booth a couple months back it seems that they’re ready to unleash even more stuff for us to buy later this year. New announcements concerning transforming plushies (that change either Sonic or Shadow into their ‘super’ forms when turned insideout), a Rouge/Shadow comic book pack, and glowing chaos emerald accessories were recently shown by Russian fansite Sonic Characters, who dug up some very interesting fact sheets relating to the toy line.
If you fancy a look at the products revealed you can see these fact sheets after the jump. And if you like what you see why not let us know what your favorite toy is in the comments? It can’t hurt you to try!

I don’t have enough room for all these new Sonic toys
Mar 6th
The Sonic Stadium has written an extensive article highlighting all the Sonic toys and merchandise that was featured at recent toy fairs in New York and Nuremberg. It looks like there’s going to be no shortage of things to buy for Sega and Sonic fans this year with several manufacturers developing new products for us to waste money on.
There’s all kinds of the usual Sonic figurines, models and plushes ranging from classic and modern Sonic to the comic universe, Sonic and the Black Knight and even All-Stars Racing Transformed related models and vehicles from Jazware. Then there’s more unique merchandise like a giant glowing ring, a boombox, small capsule toys, headphones, walkie talkies, masks, *deep breath* Roller Racers(?) and even Sonic Chess, which sounds pretty cool and would go nicely with my Sonic Monopoly board game.
So, anyone interested in any of this? Do you currently own some Sonic merchandise?

Sega launches digital Sonic cards on Stampii
Sep 30th
Sega has made an announcement recently revealing the launch of digital Sonic the Hedgehog cards to be distributed through online collecting site Stampii. The collection contains 90 cards featuring various Sonic heroes and villains. Each card is also set to contain videos and trivia for the character you’ve collected. But that’s not all because you can also trade these cards through social network sites such as Facebook. To explain this feature Sega said in their recent blog post that:
The digital nature of these virtual cards allows collectors anywhere in the world to exchange their cards online, with social networks helping to raise the experience of card trading from a local level to a worldwide scale.
Collectors can also use the Stampii app which allows you to trade cards even on the go. There seems to be a lot you can do with these cards so if you’re interested make sure to hop over to the Sonic page on Stampii to activate your collection now.
While this is indeed a weird piece of merchandising my appreciation for Sega goes out to them for at least teaming up with a slightly smaller company to do something new. But does this really have a market? And are you interested in these at all? Let me know in the comments!

It seems that with each new Sega All-Stars game, a bunch of figures and merchandise always follow in the footsteps soon after the game’s announcement. This is indeed true as Meccano has recently shown off a bunch of new figures on their Facebook page, and it seems that one of them hints at a playable stage based on Green Hill Zone.

Udon Entertainment to release Bayonetta art book and DVD
Mar 23rd
It seems that fans of Sega and Platinum’s sexy action title Bayonetta have had plenty of reasons to be happy lately. And with this announcement of a sensual art book and DVD package entitled The Eyes of Bayonetta, fans also have a great reason to break out their wallets yet again.
The book is set to contain “character sketches, CG models, monsters, weapons, and location designs” with an added “creator commentary”. The DVD is also set to contain an hour of exclusive behind the scenes goodness. The release date has not been announced but it has got a price of $39.99, and you can pre-order it on amazon already.
Seems like a good package overall. I really love these kinds of merchandise and this seems like it’s set to contain a great deal of treats. Good job Udon!

The Sega Addicts Kids Table: Episode 24 – Pillow Talk
Jan 19th
Well with the inevitable New Years episode out of the way, The Sega Addicts Kids Table is back to rock your ears! And joining the usual cast of Stevie Grant (me), Josh Newey (who disappears 5 minutes in), and John Doherty (who doesn’t make love to pillows), is Scott Morrison (otherwise known as ‘Scotty’. I never bothered to ask which) who adds some definite insight to the podcast along with the usual dribble we’re known for.
So are you ready to rock? Are you ready to hear us babble on about SOPA and those sweet Vanquish figures that were revealed? Are you ready to discover why Josh won’t put his pillows in the washing machine? Well download it and hear the answers to these, and other questions you didn’t even want to find out about!
Our go on our iTunes and subscribe! Why not even leave a review? Go on. I fucking dare you to leave us a review.
Samba de Amigo celebrates the Day of the Dead in style
Oct 20th
Mexico’s Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is right around the corner, and manufacturer Meat Bun is celebrating with a brand new Samba de Amigo shirt that takes the adorable little simian and friends down the path of the macabre. This clever shirt is made out of super soft cotton, and comes in not one but two colors – Deathly Black and Ghostly White. They said it, not me.
Anyone dropping $24 for this creepy/adorable tribute to the monkey with the miracas?

First 4 Figures reveals Knuckles and Knuckles Exclusive figurines
Oct 11th
Every once in a while, something comes out that is so overwhelmingly amazing that I zoom straight past excitement and headlong into an inexplicable rage. Today is one of those days.
As promised, First4Figures unveiled their brand new Knuckles figurine earlier today, and I’m clenching my fists so tightly that it’s becoming difficult to type. Crafted with the intricacy that the folks at First4 are known for, this 10″ masterpiece has Knuckles pounding his namesake through molten rock, leaning over and just looking like a general badass.
Like the Super Sonic and Metal Sonic figures before it, this beauty is also getting an exclusive edition, which features a lovely light-up base. Since this one is inspired by the magma in Lava Reef Zone, the lights will mimic the multicolored hues of lava from that stagggeeeAAAAGGHH!!!! I WANT IT!
Now for the part that has me redder than No Chuckles Knuckles himself – the price. The standard Knuckles figure goes for $169.99, while the Exclusive figure will run you $189.99.
Only one question remains: Knuckles, or rent? Knuckles, or rent? Hey anybody need a kidney? $190. Get it while you can.
