Second Pluto system surpasses previous auction bids on eBay for over $8,000
May 7th
I mistakenly assumed that the auctioning was over, and that KidVid666 was buying all of the sports cars after the bidding ended on Game Gavel. The measly $7,600 was not enough, and we can see now on eBay that the system is worth way more than $7,000 to someone. At the writing of this article, the auction for the second known Sega Pluto is up to $8,200 with the reserve not yet met. I’m willing to bet that the reserve isn’t even below $10,000. What do you think? Is KidVid666 hoping for a cool mill, or is he just trying to see how crazy fans like us really are?
Sega Pluto auction ends at $7,600 while seller probably bought a new car
Apr 25th
So you may have heard of a little thing called the Sega Pluto by now on this site. Well, the insane auction for it just ended at a final bid of $7,600.00. You read that correctly: over seven thousand dollars. While I am a huge Sega Saturn fan, and the Pluto is basically a Sega Saturn with a built-in modem, I could not even imagine paying this much for a single videogame-related object. I say this mainly because I am actually jealous of the 2 Pluto-owners in the world. What’s even more insane is when you check the “bid history,” and see that the bidding went from the starting bid of $50 to $7,500 in one bid. ONE BID. Someone saw this auction, decided his kids weren’t going to college, and took out a loan at the bank.
In all honesty though, KidVid666 either just bought himself a car, or put a downpayment on a new house, because an extreme Sega fan just won his own Christmas gift for the next 20 years.

Hell Yeah! becomes part of XBLA sale
Apr 13th
Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit was released last September (yes it has gone that quick) for XBLA and if you still haven’t gotten around to trying it out then you may have an excuse to finally pick it up because it’s now cheap as chips! That’s right Arkedo’s action platformer goes on sale April 16th (Tuesday) as a part of XBLA’s recent sales bonanza and will be reduced to 480 MS points, 60% off the games original asking price.
Personally I always end up missing some smaller games, but I find sales are a great time to dip into an experience while it’s still slightly relevant again. The vastly cheaper price also helps. But enough about me, what about you? Will you be picking this up while it’s even more inexpensive? Have you even already played it? If so what did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Anarchy Reigns makes it to 16th in UK charts
Feb 1st
A lot of people’s concerns for Anarchy Reigns when it was coming out was that the lack of decent advertising would hurt its overall sales. Well with its release date behind it we can finally look at the figures and judge it’s success. According to UK chart statistics the game in fact entered into the 16th spot right under Dishonored and above the latest Skylanders outing when it first debuted last month. Not too hopeful unfortunately since both those games are months old but I personally think the true test will be to see how long it stays in the charts.
Honestly I think a lot to do with this is the January release date. But what do you think? Could Anarchy Reigns have sold better with a more strategic launch? Or was it always destined to be a niche title? Let me know in the comments!

Hatsune Miku ships over a million in Japan
Apr 16th
There seems to have been a lot of Hatsune Miku news lately, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping just yet! Along with reports of her next game it has been revealed that Sega’s fictional pop star has shipped over a million Project Diva games in Japan.
This was revealed in a (Japanese) blog post about the series sales in Japan. The games notoriously sell well in the country as Miku can be considered a full blown pop star in the East. To celebrate this Sega are giving away pins to 390 random fans (and a free desktop wallpaper to everyone) who fill in this survey. Yeah you might want to break out google translate on this one.
So what is your opinion on Miku? Do you ‘get it’ or do you fail to see why Japan has fallen in love with her? Let me know in the comments!

Phantasy Star Online 2 lets you buy stuff with fun!
Apr 15th
It was revealed recently that there will in fact be three types of currency in the long awaited MMO, Phantasy Star Online 2. These go by the names of Meseta, Arcs Cash, and Fun! Since this is a free to play game Arcs Cash will be gained using your real life hard earned money. Meseta will of course be used as in game money that you can get from quests and your usual videogame methods.
But here’s where we get to the fun part (oh God sorry for that pun)! There is in fact a third type of currency that you can gain through real life methods such as liking the game on Facebook, and playing the game for a decent amount of hours. You also gain it by being nice and congratulating your team mates in-game via a ‘good job’ button. You can use Fun in-game by buying music and items from ‘Fun Scratch’, a feature in the game which converts your fun into usable cash.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently in beta, and we will keep you updated as even more details are sure to be revealed in the near future.
