Sega Addicts Podcast: Episode 116 – Acclaim on Sega Part 2
Jan 12th
This episode we discuss a lot of Anarchy Reigns because it’s a fun game that’s worth much more than its $30 price tag. There’s also some Sega portable discussion as I gave Dinosaur King, Shiren the Wanderer and After Burner: Black Falcon the ol’ college try this week.
As for the main topic, we delve further into Acclaim’s library and discuss games based on Bruce Lee, Terminator 2, Crash Test Dummies and a game called Mortal Kombat.
Get Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown half off today as part of XBLA’s Countdown to 2013
Dec 30th
XBLA’s end of the year countdown has yielded some great deals from all corners of gaming, but today’s set of discounted titles is squarely focused on one thing–fighting.
At the top of the impressive heap is the latest entry in Sega’s flagship fighting franchise, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, with Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, Dungeon Defenders, Dungeon Fighter Live, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition waiting just below. Just for today, you can snag all of these games for half off. That means Virtua Fighter 5, Dungeon Defenders, and Street Fighter III are all 600 points, while Mortal Kombat and Dungeon Fighter Live are going for 400.
Back when Final Showdown was first released, our resident 3D fighting guru Brett Hatfield was really won over in his review, despite having not been a fan of the series in the past. So you’re even remotely intrigued by this 3D fighter, whether or not Virtua Fighter has been your “thing” in the past, now’s the time to give it a shot.

Last week we listed 10 of our favorite games on the Master System. Unfortunately, that period of happiness and good games had to come to an end eventually as not every game on the 8-bit console was a shining star. In fact, there’s quite a few games on the Master System that shouldn’t be put in anyone’s system. From rushed licensed games to 8-bit downgraded ports of 16-bit games there’s a few clunkers that managed to make it to store shelves back in the day.
Hit the jump to read our list of 10 games to avoid on the Master System.
Tommy Wiseau takes on Mortal Kombat
Sep 25th
Before you question my reasoning behind why I put this on a Sega site: Mortal Kombat was more awesome on Sega systems, because the blood was still in there! Now watch Tommy Wiseau, mastermind behind ‘The Room’, play the latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series, called… Mortal Kombat.
I hate modern naming conventions.
And ‘kool’ misspelling for that matter…

Freedom isn’t free
May 31st
You know, I never thought about it that way… Next time I play that stage I won’t free those poor animals anymore. Better alive and imprisoned than… well, THIS! Also, after the jump: a nice little, pretty random Mortal Kombat video with mouth made sounds. Enjoy!
