It’s the second to last episode of our Acclaim series and now we don’t know what to with ourselves. Our whole lives have been leading up to next week’s episode, at which point we’ll become Acclaim on Sega masters with little use for any additional knowledge or life experiences. We may sound happy and joyful on the podcast, but deep down we’re all living in fear of what will truly come next for the Sega Addicts Podcast. Acclaim is all we’ve known for several months…
On this week’s podcast, Tom makes his grand return and brings free chocolates for everyone! Unfortunately, they’ve been in his pocket since his trip back from Utah so they’re all a giant melted mess filled with chucks of dryer lint, change and old receipts. We all politely declined.
It didn’t hurt his feelings though as he was in high spirits as we went on to talk about Sega and some Acclaim goodness for nearly an hour! We even finally made it to Shadow Man on the Sega Dreamcast, but don’t worry listener, as we still have a couple Acclaim on Sega episodes to go.
Hey gang what’s up? Nothing? Bored? Waiting for something to turn your life into fun? Well thankfully for you The Sega Addicts Kids Table is back (and late, blame epilepsy) again to entertain you with Tom Kyzivat filling in for John this week! Does that get you hyped? No! Well how about some discussion on the 1995 motion picture epic Theodore Rex? Yes? Yes!!!
On a more serious note there’s also some conversation about Sonic Dash becoming free, the old Castle of Illusion HD rumors, and much more. Oh and if you want to find out what’s up with the title for this episode you’re gonna have to listen to the actual thing. Enjoy!

On this week’s Acclaim Addicts, we venture into unlucky part 13 and discuss some of the worst games in this entire series like, Tunnel B1, Battlesport and NFL Quarterback Club 2000. It’s not all bad because we’re finally in the Dreamcast era and can finally see the end of the tunnel on this long hard Acclaim-fueled journey.
On this episode Kris makes his grand return live from the faraway country of Japan. So, we of course discuss some Japanese games like Border Break and Project Diva f for the Vita. In addition, we bring up some recent news like the trailer for the Castle of Illusion remake, Sega Studios Australia shutting down and the cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines for WiiU. From there, it’s onto our 12th part of the Acclaim on Sega series as we dive into Virtual Open Tennis, Cutthroat Island, Bust-A-Move 2, Batman Forever: The Arcade Game and finally… Battle Monsters.
On this week’s podcast, Mike turns into a Skype robot and I don’t edit our attempts to revive him out of the podcast episode. My original plan was to make this episode sound as professional as possible with editing… then I realized that our struggles to understand Mike was more entertaining than our usual proper Sega discussion so I kept it in.
In addition to our failed attempts to save Mike we discuss some SC-3000 games, the possibility of Shenmue 3, Sonic Dash going free and, of course, a wonderful selection of Acclaim games on the Saturn.
On this week’s episode we realize that we’ve spent three months discussing just Acclaim games on Sega consoles and all start to go a little crazy. However, we always finish what we start so the show will go on even if we’re all speaking in tongues by the final part of this Acclaim mega-series.
Games discussed this week were: WWF In Your House (it’s not actually in your house), College Slam, Darius Gaiden, NFL Quarterback Club 97, Alien Trilogy and Starfighter 3000.
We’ll be recording part 10 of our Acclaim series tonight and we’re on the hunt for some listener questions. Games to be discussed are:
WWF In Your House (Saturn)
Alien Trilogy (Saturn)
College Slam (Genesis/Saturn)
NFL Quarterback Club 97 (Saturn)
Darius Gaiden (Saturn)
Starfighter 3000 (Saturn)
So, if you’ve got some questions/comments about these games, Acclaim and/or Sega in general, leave them in the comments below!
On this week’s episode we continue our journey through Acclaim’s forbidden landscape as we talk about such classics as Batman Forver on the Game Gear, Ressurection: Rise 2, Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game and some actually good games: D and Separation Anxiety.
Oh, and there’s also a return of the Sega Addicts Radio Play Theater (that no one asked for but we decided to do it anyway) as we re-enact a classic scene from the Mortal Kombat games.
Oh boy, what have The Sega Addicts Kids Table got themselves wrapped up in this time? Detention? In a 1985 coming of age John Hughes movie? Oh no! What a terrible, yet totally radical fate! That’s right in this episode Stevie, Josh, and John learn about the power of homework and friendship with special guest Scotty! Also there’s a lot of gross peeing. Eww.
The main part of the episode however is focused on the recent Aliens: Colonial Marines controversy, with whole sections dedicated to discussing it’s bugs and it’s now infamous scandals. So pull up a chair, break out the popcorn or your old school uniform because it’s time to learn with the Kids Table once again for the first time in a while (we’re back on track now)!
