With the Sega published, Double Fine created platformer The Cave nearing it’s vague January 2013 release date, it seems like a good a time as any to open up pre-orders for the anticipated title on Steam. However Sega are doing more than just showing off the game’s Steam page as pre-ordering early gets you exclusive items in Team Fortress 2. How novel!
The page itself shows off screenshots and various other interesting bits to hook us in. But if you’re anything like me you’re already hooked, and can’t wait to get your hands on the game. If that’s the case then you can finally fulfil that desire with a pre-order. And don’t worry, we’ll be keeping our ears out here at Sega Addicts for a release date, and will update you when any news on that surfaces.
I wish I was talking about some new, previously unreported pre-order DLC, but I’m not. The Anarchy Reigns Day One Edition, which includes DLC for two new multiplayer modes named ‘Mad Survival’ and Dogfight’, as well as our all-time favourite witch, Bayonetta, as a playable character will be available in the US, but only via pre-order from GameStop.
Whether or not this affects the European countries in which GameStop operates is unknown, but considering the ease of inter-EU country importing, it’s unlikely.
I suppose Anarchy Reign‘s reduced retail price wasn’t enough for Sega. I find it a pity that they feel it necessary to whore out what is potentially the best IP they’ve come into contact with for a long, long time. But that’s just my opinion. What’s yours? Check out the full press release after then jump, then let me know in the comments section below.

Normally I’d be a little embarrassed about my absurd level of excitement, but we’re all family here at Sega Addicts, so screw it–
GOD I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. LIKE NOW. I WANT IT. SO SO SO SO SO BAD.
I am positively shaking with excitement. If you’re like me, you’ve been wanting Ryu Hazuki’s iconic leather jacket ever since it first graced TV screens more than 10 years ago. Now, with Insert Coin’s brilliant Shenmue-inspired hoodie, you too can don Hazuki’s tiger-emblazoned threads to go looking for your father’s murderer… or to get groceries, or something. If you haven’t already clicked the link in fervent, pants-wetting excitement, then you might be interested to know that Insert Coin has also announced a flashy new Jet Set Radio-inspired tee. There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe how much I want these Dreamcast flavored clothes.
Both shirts are up for pre-order now on Insert Coin’s website. They go for some pretty hefty prices (the Shenmue hoodie goes for £35.00/$55.23, while the JSR tee goes for £25.00/$39.45), but man do they look like they’re worth every stinkin’ penny. With last year’s classy, understated Sonic Anniversary shirts and now these incredible little numbers, it seems that Insert Coin’s becoming a hardcore Sega-fan’s go-to shop. Hit the jump to see both amazing pieces of clothing in all their glory.
Hell yeah! More games need food based merchandise… or do they?
Either way the real product, Retro City Rampage will be out in May and you can pre-order it here. Seriously if you’re into Sega or retro games at all you should be looking out for this.
This week on Famitsu, it was revealed that Bayonetta will be a playable character in the upcoming 3D Brawler, Anarchy Reigns. Bayonetta will be a pre-order bonus in Japan, where the game is known as “Max Anarchy.” To those who are waiting for that unknown Bayonetta sequel, (myself included), this bonus offer may make that wait a little less painful. So what do you think, fellow addicts? Did you see this coming? Will this push you over the edge to buy Anarchy Reigns? Am I asking questions just to ask them? Let us know in the comments!
Sega announced a few pre-order bonuses for reserving Binary Domain at GameStop. The first of which is a map pack including two maps: Outside High-rise, and Upper City. The second set includes the “Ninja” class for multiplayer, and I’ll admit I got a bit distracted by the Official Ninja Webpage that Sega linked on their site. The third set is a pair of nice weapons for multiplayer: the “Hoga Type 69″ Sniper Rifle, and the “Yamato-0″ Handgun. So, if you have not yet reserved Binary Domain and want to have a leg up on the competition, then GameStop may be the place to go.

Do you want Sonic Generations the very moment it comes out for PC? Well you’re very lucky because Steam have made that available on Steam right now! The £20 pre-order is here and gives you a neat countdown until the time it becomes unlocked. Pre-orders also get Steam copies of Sonic 3D Blast along with Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
Man I can not wait for this game. And with a countdown like that it just makes me even more hyped. I think I need to play some Sonic to prepare. What about you?
For fans of the Sonic Generations music that we’ve heard so far, the following will be awesome news. The OST CD’s have been revealed and in an even better turn of events, there will be two of them! One for the Xbox 360/PS3 game (White Edition), and a separate soundtrack for the 3DS game (Blue Version).
What’s even more exciting is that they’re both up for pre-order now on Amazon.co.jp. The white edition will come with the console games, while 3DS soundtrack will be separate. So yeah good news for all you music and import fans. Sounds like an awesome soundtrack anyways so I’m always on board.

Are you a musical artist? Do you like Sonic the Hedgehog? Have you ever wanted to mix the two in a freakish experiment against the will of mankind? Well now you don’t have to! Because you will soon be able to buy replicas of Jun Senoue’s (Sonic composer) guitar! It’s page is here and as you can tell from that page it is an ESP Japanese exclusive.
Still you can probably import it. It’s available for pre-order through December and comes in either a left or right handed version. I bet it’s not too expensive. Oh wait it’s $1760. Yeah looks like you have to be super serious about wanting to rock out with Sonic to get this guitar.
Wow, I did not see this coming. If you pre order Shogun 2 on Steam and you own Team Fortress 2 you will receive this pack. You can also buy this stand alone on Steam. If you already pre ordered Shogun 2 off Steam don’t fret, you will still get the pack as long as you already own Team Fortress 2.
What other cross overs would you guys want to see Sega do?
