Let’s Play: Renegade Ops – Part 3

Steam version of Renegade Ops delayed!
Sep 23rd
Renegade Ops, which is already out on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade has silently been delayed until October. it was originally slated for a September release, as close as possible to the other platforms.
This really strikes me as odd, as it shouldn’t be that hard to port that game, especially considering it is out for Xbox from which PC ports are pretty easy to realize…

Review: Renegade Ops
Sep 21st
Renegade Ops was a game that just popped out of nowhere for me. With all to go on but one simple logo, it was very hard to tell what kind of game it was going to turn out as. This didn’t last long as videos of an fun and fast paced twin stick shooter surfaced. And from then on I was very interested as to how this downloadable Sega published title would turn out.
So recently, John Doherty, Josh Newey and I, sat down to play together. And while we recorded our initial reactions on an upcoming podcast, what did we all think after the smoke had cleared? How did this new Sega/ Avalanche studios venture turn out? You can find out all this and more, after the jump as we all take turns to review Renegade Ops. More >
Let’s Play: Renegade Ops – Part 1
Sep 18th

Renegade Ops devs speak out against DRM
Sep 2nd
Avalanche Studios, the developers of the upcoming Sega title Renegade Ops has spoken out against the ever controversial topic of DRM. In an interview with Edge, Christofer Sundberg (founder of the studio) said that ”As a developer you will never win over any fans if you constantly let everyone know how much it costs to develop a game and how much money you lose.”
He continued to say “I don’t like always-on DRM solutions at all, since they offer nothing to the consumer. If you continuously give something extra for registering and being online, and award them for actually paying for and playing your game, it’d be different, but always-on DRM only says: ‘Thank you for buying our game, we trust you as far as we can throw you.”
As Sega fans, we fortunately haven’t really dealt with DRM in the past. But as it becomes a bigger issue I’m sure we can expect to hear more about it soon. So what do you think? Are the Renegade Ops developers right, or are they not seeing the bigger picture? Let me know in the comments!
