Taiko Drum Master to be playable in Yakuza 5
Aug 10th
I don’t know how well the Yakuza demographic crosses over with the rhythm game community, but it’s still cool to see some games crossing over into other worlds. An example of this would be the recent announcement of Namco Bandai’s Taiko Drum Master making a playable appearance in Yakuza 5. A mini version of the popular rhythm title can be accessed in the game’s world through the Club Sega arcade. When selected you get a choice of three song’s which are played in the typical Taiko Drum Master gameplay fashion. The series is also represented in the game as a prize in the virtual UFO Catcher machine.
Along with this announcement comes a few screenshots of the games inclusion which you can see after the jump. More >
New Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F song has a Summer feeling
Jul 16th
Fans of Hatsune Miku, get ready because Sega has a brand new video to show off! Since the new Vocaloid game, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is due to hit Japanese stores in August, Sega has updated their official site with a song from the upcoming game. The song is entitled Summer Idol and is all about catchy Summer partying. If you are so inclined you can watch the video above this post.
Even though Hatsune Miku isn’t personally my thing, I still thought the song in question was cute, and I do expect it to be a hit with Hatsune’s ever increasing fan base. But what about you? Did you like it, or do you have another favourite? Let me know in the comments!

Random Encounters produces a Rhythm Thief musical video with Sega
Jul 10th
To promote the upcoming US release of Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure Sega has teamed up with youtube sensation Random Encounters to create a live action musical trailer for it. The video (which you can watch above) is a fun take on the game’s story and features precise representations of the characters from the game. I personally really dig it, as I love creative trailers and this one definitely fit the bill. It then goes without saying that I hope Sega and Random Encounters will work again in the future.
But what do you think? Are you not a fan of the music, or of Rhythm Thief in general? If not (or even if you are) let me know in the comments!

Rhythm Thief demo footage up online
Feb 26th
Are you desperate to get your hands on the Rhythm Thief and the Emperors Treasure demo but just can’t wait until it comes out in the US or Europe? Well thank god you have the internet because NiNTENDOMiNATi0N has uploaded footage of the entire demo on youtube, which you can watch in this post!
Personally I think this looks pretty cool. Reminds me very much of Sega’s old school music based games like Samba de Amigo and Space Channel 5, and that’s definitely a good thing. Rhythm Thief and the Emperors Treasure comes out for the 3DS in early April for Europe and late April for the US. Until then expect to see more coverage from us as the date draws near.
