Hyperkin, predominantly sellers of third party accessories, have announced their follow up to the hugely popular RetroN 3, a series of hybrid retro consoles. In addition to previously being able to play SNES, NES and Genesis games, the new console now allows the play of GBA too, though one of its most exciting new features is the HDMI output – allowing you to finally have a tidy set-up, at least in my case.
As well as those, it boasts a new operating system inviting you to change the controls and pick platform, with more to be announced. Otherwise it carries a similar design to its predecessor with cartridge slots for each console, two controller ports each and a wireless Bluetooth pad.
That’s right guys! In case you forgot, today was indeed Sonic the Hedgehog’s day of birth anniversary (otherwise known as a ‘Birthday’)! On this day Sonic has turned 21 meaning that he can now drink alcohol in the USA! Hooray! Go get shit-faced old friend. Just think about it though. Only 21 small years ago our favourite rodent was born into a bitter world. A world which he would brighten up with numerous speedy adventures and edgy quips. Sonic the Hedgehog was released in America 21 years ago, exactly on this date. Does that make you feel old?
I’m personally going to pop in Sonic Generations for a quick fix. It works well since it’s an anniversary game too. But enough about me, how do you plan to celebrate? Let me know in the comments!
Well this sure is relevant considering the recent Sega news this week! So if you’re a fan of the Jet Set Radio franchise I think you’ll really dig some of the stuff on Dooke80′s youtube page. It seems he has a talent for remixing our favourite Sega tunes whilst giving them a retro edge. It’s really cool. He also has some Sonic Adventure stuff too which is pretty awesome, although my personal favourite is his remix of City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2.
Just check out his stuff, it’s all pretty good. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go, these songs have got me hankering for some Dreamcast!

This is quite a pleasant surprise: The Sega Genesis version of Street Fighter 2 will be re-released on the Virtual Console with added online multiplayer! This has been confirmed for the Japanese version, which according to Capcom will come to the West soon! Here’s the full comment:
Here’s a nice surprise – the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is coming to the Japanese Virtual Console with online play added. On the surface, that’s not entirely great news, as most of us are not in Japan. However, I can confirm that this is indeed coming soon for US / EU as well, though there’s no set date.
Yes, this is the final part of my Let’s fail of Sonic 2. In this ast bit, I fail so much, it blows my mind. Witness the true awfulness of my gaming skills!
This is already the fourth part of my Let’s Fail laythrough of Sonic 2. Only one more to go!
What’s this? Already part 3 of my Let’s fail of Sonic 2? Only 2 more parts to go!
Enjoy the second part of my completely failed attempt at a Sonic 2 Let’s Play. Hope you like it!
Hurray, a new Let’s Play video! What’s that? It’s called ‘Let’s fail’? The reasons for that are simple: First of all, I suck at the game. I’d like to blame that one that the game runs in NTSC speed, while my childhood only came in PAL. Deal with it! Second of all, while I did record an audio commentary, the program decided to not give a damn about what I want to do and shredded it. So not commentary from me. Still, hope you people enjoy this Let’s Fail (trademark pending…)!
Super Monkey Ball is going to be free this Sunday, October 23rd, only while Streets of Rage 2 will be free the next Sunday. While they are only free for 24 hours, this is quite amazing if you don’t have these games yet. Sure, this is in a way an advertisement campaign for the other games, since there is a second Monkey Ball game for iOS and the other two Streets of Rage titles are also available on there. Or does this even hint at something new coming for these two franchises on iOS devices?
