Our friends at Sega sure do love teaser sites, don’t they? Well they are throwing another one at us, and this time with Miku in the URL. With the consistent release of Hatsune Miku games, one would assume it’s an announcement for another game. However, I would not be surprised if it is something random like a new fruit snack, or Miku-themed cafe simply because Miku can be seen on so many different types of merchandising at this point.
What do you think it could be? Let’s Make a Miku Concert, perhaps?

Unless recently inhabiting a cave, there’a a high chance you’ve been excited for the huge hype and speculation carrying Sega’s newest teaser site. You may have then found yourself incredibly confused when it updated with some sort of egg. By this point, many ideas have most likely run riot in your head from Shenmue to Project Diva. Well, Famitsu have spilled the beans before the intended reveal and hold onto your computer chair…It’s a football manager simulator in the Let’s Make a Soccer Team! franchise.
So yeah, not quite what we were expecting. And being a Japanese teaser there’s the complete possibility we won’t even see the game. Better luck next time, we hope!

Sega’s latest teaser site has been sparking quite a bit of buzz since its launch last week. Whether it’s because of the somber and mysterious tone of the image, the involvement of both of Sony’s consoles, or some other enigmatic reason, this simple little image has gamers guessing everything from Yakuza to Project Diva to Sands of Destruction to Shenmue.
Now fans will have something else to mull over, as the image has been updated to the one you see above. What was initially a light sprinkling of sand has now piled up into what looks like a half-formed egg or rock of some sort. What could it be? A new Seaman? A gritty re-imagining of Billy the Egg Hatcher? The anticipation is killing me!
The project, tentatively being referred to as “Sega New Project 0328,” will be revealed this Thursday, March 28th.

The peaceful yet tantalizing image you see above is from Sega’s new Japanese Teaser site, which hints at some Sony-exclusive game that will be revealed come March 28th. The image really doesn’t give us much to go on, but as you can see there’s a faded field at the bottom, and what looks like some sand being poured down from the top of the image.
While my mind is already running wild with irrational optimism, it’s important to keep ourselves grounded by the fact that this is a Japanese teaser. Whatever this is may never even see the light of day in the west. That said, it’s taking more Valium than usual to stamp out that incessant “SHENMUE!!!” demon screaming in my head.
Anyway, hit me with your thoughts in the comments.

Sega of Japan opened a website today showcasing three scenic areas and not much else. The teaser site shows the numbers, “2.12,” which is assumed to be the abreviation for February 12th. With the numbers staying on the middle of the screen, three different scenic images appear showcasing a temple on top of a mountainous waterfall, a temple in a forest surrounded by day and night, and a temple in what appears to be a volcano. The website URL itself isn’t any help either as it is just a longer version of the February date. Let the rumors begin! I would wager that it’s an add-on for Phantasy Star Online 2, but who knows? Hit the jump to see the other 2 landscapes from the teaser site. More >

Happy Hedgehog Day everyone! Remember that old marketing gimmick? Well Sega does and has rightfully celebrated the day with a post on the Sega blog to greet fans and show off a cool signed Sonic figure from their office. However the story goes deeper as they also hinted at bigger plans for the mascot coming this year. In the blog Kellie from Sega wrote that:
We’ve got some great stuff coming up this year, but we’re not ready to talk about it just yet.
Taking this and the recent rumor into account I think it’s safe to say that Sega has something big in the works videogame wise for the blue rodent. What with all secrecy and the red herring message hidden within the post itself. But what do you think it could be? Would you even like a new Sonic game this year, or do you think he could use a break? Let me know in the comments!

The teaser site for a new and mysterious Sega project, currently named ‘Project Omega‘, opened yesterday with a countdown to Thursday 20th September. Each day running up to September 20th the site will reveal a Japanese character which, it is assumed, will eventually give us the name of the new game; again, assuming it is a game.
As well as revealing a Japanese character, each day comes with an image of a women literally revealing a symbol marked on her body. Luckily for us, Sega left some of the images on the site before blocking them off which can be found after the jump. We’ll keep you updated on Project Omega, but for now why don’t you share your speculations in the comments section below.

The team behind the Jet Set Radio HD re-release are set to reveal their newest project with Sega, currently titled Project Omega. Right now the link to the teaser site will reveal a 404 page (http://sega.jp/project-omega) but we’ll keep you updated as soon as the site goes live.
Anyone out there have any speculation on what Project Omega could be? Do you think it’s an entirely new game or a new HD-ified re-release that the team will be working on?

Yes, Sega have posted an unnamed image of an unnamed location from an unnamed game on their Facebook page. And yes, it does look very similar to the Stick Canyon level from the Saturn classic, NiGHTS into Dreams. However, once you’ve caught your breath from jumping around shouting ‘I knew they’d remake it!’ a hundred times, had a little sit-down and a nice sip of milky tea you will realise that the image is most likely from the upcoming Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, although this has not been confirmed.
So are we looking at a NiGHTS themed track? Does this mean NiGHTS will be a playable character in the new racing game? Or maybe it really is from a NiGHTS remake..? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
