I have probably said this before in a news post, but PS Plus really is an amazing thing. You get free games, people! And ka-razy discounts! Anyway, my free advertising aside, let’s talk about what PS Plus gets you this month: the entire Platinum game, Vanquish, for the low cost of free. You can’t pass this up. And for our UK readers, the digital version of Aliens: Colonial Marines is marked down 20% for the first 2 weeks of its release. So go hit up these deals!

Anarchy Reigns is still relevant right? What about the 4th Die Hard movie? Oh well, even if they aren’t exactly new it doesn’t mean that The Sega Addicts Kids Table can’t discuss/ awkwardly reference them! That’s right in this episode Stevie and Josh (John was busy doing game competitions) analyse Platinum’s recent multiplayer extravaganza in a fun episode that’s sure to tickle your senses.
So expect spoilers and a lot of thrilling action from the dynamic duo as we finally get into what makes the game tick. Also I don’t even remember where the Die Hard joke comes from so that’ll be a surprise for us all.
Or go to our iTunes and subscribe! Leave us a review or we’ll fight you (in a videogame).
And Newey Needs to Knowey is being held back a week. Tweet your idea for an Anarchy Reigns character to @segaaddicts and your ideas will be read out on the show, with Josh drawing the best one. So get to work!
There’s this character named Sonic and he’s known for being fast. He’s owned by a company named Sega and they’re known for owning Sonic who is known for being fast. However, this company, Sega, owns a lot of other characters and licenses that are also fast but they aren’t as well known. This website named Sega Addicts decided to make a list of other characters owned by Sega who are fast.
You, the reader, can now hit the jump to read more about characters who are fast.
Japanese game developers Platinum Games, responsible for Sega-Addicts favourites Vanquish, Bayonetta and, the soon to be released in Japan, Anarchy Reigns, have recently uploaded a new concept video to Youtube. Before you wet your platinum-pants I better explain that the video does not describe the concept of a game, rather Platinum Games’s Osaka based studio itself.
Unfortunately the video is in Japanese with no English subtitles, however it does say a fair deal about their adopted, laid back working atmosphere where a little read of some manga or a bit of play time with a samurai sword seems commonplace. Oh, and the video also shows a wee bit of grisly Metal Gear Solid Rising Revengeance gameplay footage and design. Yummy.
On this week’s episode we’re joined by Sega Addict’s Reviews Editor and Kids Table co-host, Josh Newey, because Mike Kyzivat is stuck in an elevator and can’t get out. Luckily it’s one of those elevators that has a vending machine so he should be able to survive for a few more months.
If you choose to listen to this episode you’ll find some amazing discussions on stuff like: Tom plays Streets of Rage 3, Sonic 4: Episode 2 is the sequel to Cosmic Carnage, Sega’s great releases this generation, and more topics than you can shake a stick at!
Well with the inevitable New Years episode out of the way, The Sega Addicts Kids Table is back to rock your ears! And joining the usual cast of Stevie Grant (me), Josh Newey (who disappears 5 minutes in), and John Doherty (who doesn’t make love to pillows), is Scott Morrison (otherwise known as ‘Scotty’. I never bothered to ask which) who adds some definite insight to the podcast along with the usual dribble we’re known for.
So are you ready to rock? Are you ready to hear us babble on about SOPA and those sweet Vanquish figures that were revealed? Are you ready to discover why Josh won’t put his pillows in the washing machine? Well download it and hear the answers to these, and other questions you didn’t even want to find out about!
Our go on our iTunes and subscribe! Why not even leave a review? Go on. I fucking dare you to leave us a review.
For fans of sweet figures and Vanquish, today is probably the best day of your life. That is of course because Square Enix are bringing out a range of Vanquish figures in May. Sam and Bogey from the game have been revealed and it looks like you’ll be able to pose them in a number of cool/sexy ways.
They’ll cost 6,825 yen in Japan and $70 in America. Pretty steep I know but once you see the full pictures of them you’ll see just how worth it they are. Hit the jump to see a selection of images from both figures.
Remember when Sega decided to get out of the hardware business and go strictly third-party? So do we and while it was a disappointing decision for Sega fans across the globe there have been some great games published by Sega since the demise of the Dreamcast. The following list is the combined opinion of the Sega Addicts staff with what we feel are the top 10 games released by Sega since going third-party.
Remember to take into account that this is a list created by over 10 people and we had to take into account that some great games have not been played by many of us and thus were left off of the list. (Translation: More people need to play the Yakuza series!)
So read on dear site viewer and be enlightened by some great games released by Sega but not on Sega consoles…
Vanquish, Sonic and Sega Allstar Racing, Aliens versus Predator and Virtua Tennis 4 all are having a permanent price drop on the Xbox Live Games on Demand service! They all drop from $30 to $20! I don’t know about you, but that’s a great price for all of these games! Do you plan on getting any of these now?

For those of you who don’t watch the brilliant Unskippable, it’s basically the Mystery Science Theatre of videogames. It’s always consistently funny and definitely worth your time. Especially when they riff on stupid as hell cut scenes, which Vanquish has plenty of.
The gang did a two parter just for the game. So that’s something nice to watch on a lazy Sunday. Woo.
